In March we joined many other franchise owners and team members in Mexico to celebrate 20 years of HireQuest, Inc. and recognize all of the successes in 2023. We were honored to have Mike Singletary join us for a motivational speech as well. Our franchise group was proud to take home 7 awards this year.
Congrats to all of our fellow franchisee friends for their accomplishments in 2023 and thank you to Rick for continuing this annual celebration for 20 years! Here’s to 2024!

Tucson Branch Manager Alexis Penttila described the scene: Here are pictures of my Amazing FTMs. They got called out last minute for a huge gas leak in a super busy high speed road and worked 15 plus hours (some after already working 8 hours) until 5 am. We brought them burritos and jackets to make it through the night.
In April 2023 we were displaced from our Knoxville office, which was brand new to us, due to a fire. We persevered and never missed a day of dispatch because of it. We operated out of the parking lot, then moved into a trailer and then moved into a temporary building allowing for the demo and construction to take place. We are so excited to be back in our new building! To our Knoxville team – THANK YOU for enduring this chapter with us, ensuring our customers and FTM’s were always taken care of and sticking to our core values, specifically finding a solution to every obstacle thrown our way. You all are amazing! To Cox General Contractors – You all were excellent! Our experience working with you was superb and we love our new space! A huge thank you goes out to Ewing Moving & Storage for offering storage solutions and moving us back in this past month! We appreciate you and your team’s hard work and dedication to excellent service.
Honoring a Remarkable Journey!
Last month, we had the pleasure celebrating the incredible tenure of our esteemed branch manager, Nick Bean, who has been an invaluable asset to our team for nearly 8 years. His dedication, leadership, unwavering Commitment and servants heart have left an inedible mark on all of us at HQD.
As he embarks on a new chapter and prepares to move closer to family, it was bittersweet bidding him farewell. Yet, we’re filled with gratitude for the countless memories, lessons learned, and camaraderie shared throughout his tenure.
We wish him and his family nothing but the very best as they embrace this exciting journey ahead. Your presence will be deeply missed, but your impact will continue to resonate within our team.
HireQuest Direct Pays It Forward
We rolled out a Community Corner in all of our branches. This is a resource center for our FTM’s. We have bins for donation items as well as a board containing resource information someone may need.
If you have items to donate, please reach out to your local branch manager or sales representative. We do have some rules and regulations on what can and cannot be accepted.
The annual Unique Jobs of the World contract has been awarded to HQ Direct! Five hundred of our employees will be paid by UJW to spend a month performing one of most unique jobs in the world.
Want a month of picking up litter on an exotic beach in Bali or Hawaii? You got it! For those with acting skills, ‘Professional Mourner’ might fit the bill. A Netflix rival wants full-time viewers to get an edge on the competition. (I’m in!). And there’s ‘Shoe Odor Judge,’ as well as the seasonal ‘Water-slide Tester.’ Travel, accommodations and per Diem are included.
So, what’s the UJW and why do they do this? UJW was started and funded by BoredPhilanthropists.org and the purpose is so that recipients will have a unique resume and a story to tell for the rest of their lives. Very cool indeed.

Why don’t you ever see the headline ‘Psychic Wins Lottery’?
Why is ‘abbreviated’ such a long word?
Why is it that doctors call what they do ‘practice’?
Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes?
Why don’t they make the whole plane out of that stuff?!
Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?
If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?
